With caring
for the elderly a day can become an entire life. Now I do not mean this in
the literal sense, nor do I mean this in a bad way. Simply stated it means
that for the elderly residents I care for today could be their last one,
and in it I am blessed to be able to find out what their lives have been
like.
Each and
every day to those with dementia can be a lifetime to them because it is a
new day and everything around them that they have seen for years is once
again brand new to their mind.
For others
they may feel that their lifetime of 80 or more years could come to an end
today so they wish to enjoy the life they have at this moment. There are
other ways that I myself and those I care for look at each day, but this
gives you an idea as to why the title of this blog though seemingly stated
backwards from A day in the life, is more fitting as it is, Life in a Day.
I hope you
will find the joy from reading events I share the same as the joy I
have found for so many years in doing what I do. So begins
my sharing of things that have happened, as well as things that
happen now in the wondrous and most beautiful of life’s careers, care
giving.
With that said, welcome to my blog please come on in...
